One of the most important assets that any organisation has is its Intellectual Property. Most organisations in Kenya have for a long time ignored the actual value of their Intellectual Property, a fact that is now changing. This change is in part due to the realisation by the organisations of the  potential in their IP rights and in some cases, huge losses occassioned by mismanagement of IP rights – both theirs and other parties.

To obtain the most value out of Intellectual Property there is need for regular reviews which would help organisations in identifying what needs protection and the extent of such protection and what may no longer need any protection. Review of Intellectual Property assets allow organisation to work on how to best exploit their Intellectual Property either directly or vide licensing or Joint Venture arrangements.
